I love Valentine’s Day just as much as the next person. But, let’s face it – guys don’t always get it! If I give my husband a red and white valentine, I get a “Thanks, honey!” You know, that less than enthusiastic comment after you’ve just spent hours and hours on his card. So, I tried to create something outside the box. This card features the following dies from the January – June 2021 Annual catalog: Be Mine Stitched, Nature’s Thoughts, and Sunflowers. However, it just as easily could have been made with the following dies from the Mini catalog: Wrapped Flowers, Always and Many Hearts with similar results. I did receive a much better comment from my husband, something like, “Look at that, it’s like being in the woods!” See more like this at stampwithgloria.com.
Hydrangea is my favorite flower! The Hydrangea Haven stamp set, and this card in particular, invoke a very Victorian feel for me. While creating, it was a challenge to stop adding accents and trinkets! A tip when stamping flowers is to first stamp using a light color then accent using a darker watercolor marker. That will give the flowers depth and texture. Try using the Misty Moonlight ink pad (instead of the Tuxedo Memento ink pad) to give the card a softer appearance. I have accented with the Stitched with Whimsy dies and incorporated the “Love” die from the Always dies. I just love it! See more like this at stampwithgloria.com.
